Brenda Martinez

Brenda Rae Martinez, 43, of Rawlins went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 1, 2012. She had been fighting cancer for nearly nine years. Brenda and her husband of 26 years had four beautiful children together: Monique, 16, Mariah, 12, Mystique, 10, and her miracle baby boy, Marcos, 5. She also had two stepchildren, Shantelle Davis and Frank Martinez Jr. Brenda enjoyed crocheting, gambling, doing hair, fishing and hunting, dancing cumbias and was a die-hard Denver Bronco's fan who never missed watching a football game. She also enjoyed going on vacations, going to the derby, but most of all spending time with her kids, her grandkids, nieces and nephews, her sisters Layla Johanson, Kelley Diggs, Allena Caya, Elisha Mascarenas and her sister- and brother-in-law Roberta McCade and Mark Romo. Brenda especially enjoyed being with Shirley Johanson, who was not only her mother, but also her best friend. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister and friend who touched many people and will be missed dearly. Honorary pallbearers include: Marcos Martinez, Keenan Johanson, Lorenzo Johanson, Mychael Mascarenas, Kristopher Caya, Kory Caya, Kile Caya, Jaiden Caya, Gabriel McCade and TJ McCade. Services will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday and the funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday. Following the funeral will be a dinner.
