Beverly Cairns

Beverly Ann Johnson Cairns, 89, of Rigby, Idaho passed away Sept. 9, 2017, at the Gardens of Rigby. Our sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Rawlins, Wyoming, to William Andrew and Ida Helen Annala Johnson. She graduated from Rawlins High School and married Jack Lavoy Cairns on Oct. 1, 1949, in Rawlins. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 7, 1965. Beverly worked in Rawlins as a baker at Walter's Bakery and as the bookkeeper at Build-Rite Lumber. She and Jack also lived in North Platte, Nebraska; Cedaredge, Colorado, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. Bev was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. After joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many positions rendering service to others. Beverly enjoyed playing card games (especially Hand and Foot), knitting, crocheting, creating many other types of handicrafts, and SHOPPING. She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant brother, Howard; her infant sister, Verna Mae; her daughter, Christine Campbell; and her husband, Jack Lavoy Cairns. Beverly is survived by her children Linda (Ronald) Page of Delta, Colorado; Jack (Becky) Cairns of Ogden, Utah; Kay (Alan) Hansen of Rigby, Idaho; Bill (Kae) Cairns of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Becky (John) Cooper of St. George, Utah. She is also survived by her sister Helen Marie Wheat of Rawlins, Wyoming; 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren (with 3 more on the way!). The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) in Ammon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 16th, at the LDS church in Rawlins, Wyoming. Family and friends may visit on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rawlins City Cemetery. The family wishes to thank The Gardens of Rigby and Solace Hospice for their tender loving care of Beverly.
