Benjamin (Ten Ben) Martinez, resident of Rawlins Wyoming, passed away on January 7, 2025 at Rawlins Rehabilitation at the age of 77.

Benny was born in San Luis Colorado on March 19, 1947 to Jose' and Maria Martinez. He moved to Rawlins as a child and resided here until he enlisted in the Army in 1966, leaving a young family at home. He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1968. Upon returning home he met and married the love of his life, Nancy Montoya, becoming a blended family of nine.

Ben worked various jobs throughout his years before retiring from Walmart in Casper. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He loved going fishing with his buddies as often as they could. Sometimes he took the grandkids along. Benny always had a special place in his heart for all kids. His favorite past times included dancing the night away with his wife. As the years went on, he developed a liking for gambling. He was a pretty "lucky dog"! He also enjoyed cruising around town listening to music; The Beatles being his favorite.

He will be sadly missed by his siblings Leroy (Reyna), Ernie (Johnie), Manuel (Florance), Maria (Jose'), Arnold, Erline and Virginia. By his son's Benjamin A Martinez Jr., Lawerence (Angela) Martinez and Richard (Lee) Montoya. His daughters Cindy Martinez, Annette (Chet) Montoya and Shirine (Jeffery) Nealy. His grandchildren Benjamin III, Desiree, Alicia, Antoinette, Ryllie, Angelina, Renee, Salina, Lawrence Jr, Maurice, Priscilla, Canisha, Deane, Elaine (Victor), Elisha, Yvette, Shaliah, Amy, Lorena and Dante, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents Jose' and Maria, loving wife Nancy (Montoya) Martinez, siblings William, Joann, Salamon and Mary Jane. One month old daughter Priscilla, two-year-old Priscilla, son Chris Montoya and grandson Brandon. As well as many other friends and family members.

Services for Benny will be held on January 18,2025 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 219 w Pine St. Rawlins Wyoming. A lunch will follow in the gym behind the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A luncheon will follow in the church/school gymnasium.
