Annie Mary Pacheco

January 19, 1933 — March 24, 2024

Rawlins

Annie M. Pacheco, of Rawlins, Wyoming, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, surrounded by her family and loving husband of 70 years, Joe T. Pacheco. After 91 years of devotion to her family and service to her church family, she is in heaven, welcomed by the heavenly Father she served her whole life.

Annie was born in Mora, New Mexico on January 19, 1933, to Modesto and Perphilia Cruz. She was one of six children.

Annie raised a large family of nine children and was a very integral part of her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s lives. She was the rock of the family, holding everyone together, giving advice and holding them together through life’s ups and downs. She was always there to listen, to cry with, or to celebrate with. She will be missed beyond words by every single member of her family.

Annie was an amazing cook and no one ever entered her house without being fed a full meal. No one ever walked away hungry from her house. Even in her last days, she was worried that everyone was eating good meals. She was always the caregiver.

Annie was a devoted Catholic and served her church family with grace and compassion. She and her husband were very active members in the Cursillo and in the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Many families in the Rawlins community were fed and clothed due to her efforts in this organization. She and her husband were also members of the church choir. She loved singing at the Spanish masses and celebrations. Annie always had a song in her heart.

Annie is survived by her husband, Joe T. Pacheco and her children, Joseph Pacheco (Teri) of Rawlins; Dan Pacheco of Denver, CO; Mike Pacheco (Leslie) of Saratoga, WY; Ruth Boyer (Mervin) of Laramie, WY; Betty Shedden of Rawlins, Joan Scriven of Rawlins, Diana Pacheco of Rawlins, Ted Pacheco of Rawlins, and Cathy Pacheco Ogle of Brush, CO.  She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and by her brother, Fred Cruz (Nora) of CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Lawrence Cruz, Erminia Martinez, Mary Lucero, and Phil Cruz; her grandchildren Michael Pacheco, Melissa Martinez, and Melissa Scriven; her great-granddaughter, Ana Lea Scriven; and her sons-in-law, L. Douglas Watkins and Scott Ogle.

May God bless her and keep her in the palm of His hands. She will be in the hearts of her family forever.
